Guilt Trip in the media

11 Aug, 2025

After the release of Guilt Trip by Guardian Documentaries, George Hibberd, former airline pilot and co-founder of Safe Landing, whom the film follows, has had a number of interviews on the radio about the film and his experience of eco-anxiety as an airline pilot.

In the interviews, George covers all sorts of topics related to aviation and the climate. On Times Radio he talked about giving aviation workers a voice in how our industry decarbonises through Workers’ Assemblies. On BBC Radio 5 Live he talked again about Workers’ Assemblies but also about the frequent flyer levy as a way to fund aviation decarbonisation. On Newstalk FM he went into more depth about his experience of eco anxiety as an airline pilot.

The Guardian also did a follow up interview with George on their Instagram page. George talked about the key measures needed to decarbonise aviation in a fair way – banning private jets, a frequent flyer levy and Workers’ Assemblies.
