🛫 Safe Landing have responded to the news that the UK Chancellor is set to back expansion plans at three of our largest airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton.
👩✈️ Responding to these proposals:
- We urge the Government to throttle-back their airport expansion plans
- Expanding the UK’s largest airports is a flight in the wrong direction.
- The sums don’t add up on sustainable aviation, and will lead to a devastating boom-and-bust scenario for our industry.
- We need a change in destination, away from large long-haul hubs like Heathrow, towards a distributed network of smaller, regional, zero-carbon airports.
- Zero-carbon aircraft are our ticket to economic growth within environmental limits.
