About this event

How do you navigate the complex and sometimes overwhelming issue of climate change? Where do you start when trying to make sense of the science? Do you feel a tension between your love of aviation and concern for its environmental impact? And where can you explore these questions without judgement or pressure?

This workshop offers a clear, evidence-based overview of climate science, tailored for aviation professionals and enthusiasts and delivered by industry insiders who understand your world. But it’s not just about data — it’s a safe, non-critical space to acknowledge the conflict many of us feel and to realise you’re not alone.

In addition to exploring the drivers and mechanisms of climate science, we will also encourage you to reflect on any tension you might feel between your relationship with aviation and your concern for its environmental impact. This may resonate if you are an aviation worker, someone who depends on flying to see family members, or someone otherwise interested in or connected to the industry.

The Climate Fresk tool

Using the globally recognised Climate Fresk tool – experienced by more than two million people worldwide, including professionals across airlines, aerospace manufacturing and airports – you’ll build a grounded understanding of climate realities.

Climate Fresk is a powerful, accessible tool for climate education. The facts are drawn entirely from  IPCC reports (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) – the same reports that inform political and economic decision-making at the highest levels globally. It is neutral, objective, and presents only established scientific facts.

Rather than an expert presenting to the group, the Climate Fresk methodology requires all participants to take an active role in building the ‘Fresk’ together – connecting the causes and effects of climate change and developing a shared understanding of its systemic nature. As a result, participants leave with both a stronger grasp of the science and a stronger bond with each other.
