Aviation and climate change workshop
Understanding the Science to Help Shape the Future
On 27th September in London, Safe Landing hosted Aviation and Climate Change: Understanding the Science to Help Shape the Future. This was the second such workshop we have delivered, bringing together a diverse cross-section of our aviation community, including students, workers and others connected to the industry in various ways – all united by a shared desire to see a positive future, both for the sector and for our planet.
The day offered a clear, evidence-based grounding in climate science, tailored specifically for aviation professionals and enthusiasts and delivered by industry insiders, using the globally recognised Climate Fresk tool.
Beyond the science, it provided something equally important: a safe, non-judgmental space to sit with the tension many in aviation feel between their love of flying and concern for its environmental impact, and to realise they’re not alone in that. Delivered by trained Safe Landing facilitators, all with first hand experience as aviation professionals, participants left better connected, with greater clarity and the tools to contribute meaningfully.
We need a rapid transition towards a truly sustainable future for aviation and for that we need a strong voice from with the sector – pushing for change, for the sake of our industry and the planet that it depends on.
