๐Ÿ—“ Monday 26th June 7pm (UK time)
โœˆ๏ธ Are you an aviation worker (past or present) concerned about the climate?
๐Ÿช‚ Ever had tough conversations at work when bringing up the issue?
๐Ÿ›ฌ Worried about even trying?

Join fellow aviation workers past and present in our interactive workshop to share your experiences of discussing climate issues with colleagues. We’ll be role-playing some of the most commonly heard responses in a light-hearted and interactive session.

We’ll also be hearing from a specialist in talking about climate who will present how to have difficult conversations/engage with climate sceptics.

  • Check-in:ย introduction to the session. Icebreaker (15min)
  • Brainstorm:ย all the arguments/denial/negative stuff we have heard
  • Specialist:ย how to have climate conversations (15 min)
  • Breakout rooms:ย each room works on a chosen topic (15min)
  • Report back:ย feedback onย discussions to the group (25min)
  • Conclusion:ย Thank you for coming/what’s next (5 mins)

The aim:

Building on the knowledge and experiences you bring to the session, we’d like to produce a Quick Reference Handbook (or QRH as pilots call them), covering the most common challenges we face when trying to bring up environmental issues at work.

The session will also be a good chance to share any of your frustrations too – it’s not always easy talking about climate at work!

Session guidelines & inclusivity

All Safe Landing sessions are built on a foundation of respect and open-minded curiosity. With that in mind our sessions are as inclusive as we can possibly make them; if you work, or used-to work in aviation and want to be part of the discussions on how to have climate conversations – then you are most welcome to join.

If you have any questions about the session, or if there’s anything we can do to help make it easier for you to come along, please do contact us. You can reach Tom, one of the team’s organisers directly at: [email protected]

It’s going to be a fun session, a chance to let off some steam with some shared experiences, and one that leads to some interesting outcomes for a Quick Reference Handbook.
