Safe Landing Listening Circle: 25th Feb 2026

6 Feb, 2026

We invite you to join our first Listening Circle hosted by Safe Landing, for anybody in our community.

đź“… Wed 25th Feb 2026
đź•– 19:00 – 20:30 UTC (UK time)

Safe Landing members Dan & Todd (both former airline pilots and part of our core crew) have both received training from the Climate Psychology Alliance to be co-facilitators and co-participants of a listening circle.

What is a listening circle?

A listening circle is a simple, hospitable, empathetic space where fears and uncertainties about our climate and ecological crisis can be safely expressed. Find out more about them here.

Why attend a listening circle, what’s the point?

We often spend a lot of our time ‘doing’ things: for example, trying to kindly nudge the aviation industry on to a more sustainable path. This is undoubtedly important, but what if listening is also an act of ‘doing’? Can slowing down and being with our feelings also give us a sense of agency and could it also benefit the work we find ourselves participating in externally? The best way to answer that is probably to come and try one for yourself.

This may be a daunting proposition, given we live in a world where feelings are not often encouraged or even valued, but we promise to welcome everybody equally, and guide you through the process – which we hope will give all participants a shared outlet for their feelings, and a strengthened sense of community.

We are limited in numbers (per event) but rest assured we would like to make this a regular offering – as in our experience: processing deeper emotions collectively has been transformational and certainly benefited the work we do in the world and our resilience to the uncertainty associated with the enormous change heading our way due to the climate crisis.

We recorded a short conversation to give a little context to this new offering from the Safe Landing community.

In this video, Dan & Todd share some of their experience of both the inner conflicts they have had to navigate, the importance of finding a like-minded community and the benefits of shared spaces to be with the emotional experiences of the ‘poly crises’ we find ourselves in.
