A small number of airlines have already run contrail avoidance trials and a playbook has been written to help others to do it: https://www.blue-lines.org/contrail-avoidance-in-practice-a-playbook-for-airlines
Aviation Worker – Contrails Letter
At Safe Landing, we want to encourage our aviation worker community (pilots, cabin crew, airline, air traffic control and aerospace workers etc.) to talk to their employers about what their company is currently doing in this area, and encourage them to do more.
We’ve written a draft letter that can be used for this which you can find here: Contrail Avoidance Letter
Instructions:
1. Find the contact details of a corporate sustainability lead in your company.
2. Copy to the draft email below, fill in the brackets [in red], modify if desired, send.
3. Let us know if and how they respond!: info@safe-landing.org
If you’d like to discuss anything with us before giving it a shot, please contact us at: info@safe-landing.org
Let’s work together to help reduce contrail warming!
