On 9th May in London, Safe Landing hosted Aviation and Climate Change: Understanding the Science to Help Shape the Future – a workshop that brought together a diverse cross-section of our aviation community, from students and pilots to researchers, members of air traffic teams, campaigners and educators, united by a shared connection to aviation.

The day offered a clear, evidence-based grounding in climate science, tailored specifically for aviation professionals and enthusiasts and delivered by industry insiders, using the globally recognised Climate Fresk tool.

Beyond the science, it provided something equally important: a safe, non-judgmental space to sit with the tension many in aviation feel between their love of flying and concern for its environmental impact, and to realise they’re not alone in that. Facilitated by Safe Landing community members, participants left better connected, with greater clarity and the tools to contribute meaningfully to a sustainable future for aviation.
