Safe Landing talk at University College Birmingham – April 2026

27 Apr, 2026

On 27th April 2026, Finlay gave a talk to MSc Aviation students studying at University College Birmingham, Department of Hospitality and Tourism.

We presented for 1 and a half hours, including a Q&A  at the end – covering our personal journeys from aviation workers into growing a global sustainability community for our industry, the proposals of Safe Landing, our assessment of the challenges with the current aviation industry sustainability strategy, and what we think is required to get aviation onto a climate compatible flightpath.

We had lots of good questions throughout and a detailed Q&A afterwards where we got into in-depth conversations with the students, who seem to have taken a lot away from the session:

Thanks to Salil Colge for inviting us to talk to his class!

If you’re in academia/education, or a student yourself, and would like to arrange a Safe Landing talk at your institution – we do this regularly and are more than happy to consider any requests – please reach out to us on: info@safe-landing.org to discuss this!
